Your privacy
What we collect when you shop with us, who else sees it, and how to make us delete it. In plain words, with no hidden clauses.
What we collect
- Your name, delivery address and PIN code
- Mobile number and email address
- What you ordered, and any measurements you enter for stitching, fall and edging
- Anything you write to us on WhatsApp, email or a review
- Your IP address, browser and device type
- Pages and products you looked at, and what you put in the cart
- Which pieces you saved to your wishlist
- Cookies, only the necessary ones until you accept the rest
- Your card number, CVV, UPI PIN or netbanking password
- These go straight to our payment gateway, whose name you see at checkout
- We are only told whether a payment succeeded or failed
Why we use it
Who else touches your data
Each of these is given only what it needs to do its job, and is not allowed to use your data for anything else. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone. Some of these services process data on servers outside India. If you want to know exactly which company sits behind any row above, write to us and we will tell you.
To show live delivery status we keep a copy of your order number, delivery PIN code, phone number and courier tracking number on a server we rent in Bangalore, India. Shopify sends it there the moment you order. When you open the tracking page you must enter both your order ID and the mobile number on the order, so nobody else can look up your parcel. Nothing on that server is shared with anyone, and it is deleted when you ask us to delete your data.
Cookies
When you first arrive you are asked which cookies you allow. Until you accept, only the cookies needed to run the site are set — keeping your cart, remembering your login, security. Wishlist counting and any analytics start only after you accept, and you can change your mind at any time from the cookie banner. Blocking non-essential cookies does not stop you shopping.
How long we keep it
Order records, including invoices, are kept for as long as Indian tax law requires, which is several years after the financial year of the order. Messages and support conversations are kept while they are useful for helping you. Wishlist and browsing data is kept only in aggregate — how many people saved a piece, not who. If you ask us to delete your data we remove everything we are not legally required to keep.
Your rights
Indian law asks every business to name someone who answers privacy complaints. For Bhavana Handlooms that is Leela Krishna, reachable at support@bhavanahandlooms.in or +91 83416 44907, every day, 9 AM to 6 PM. Write with your order ID and what you want done, and you will get an answer within 30 days.
Common questions
Do you sell my phone number to anyone?
No. Never. Your number goes only to the courier carrying your parcel and to the service that sends our WhatsApp order updates. It is not sold, rented or shared with advertisers.
Why does the courier call me?
Because the address alone is often not enough to find a house in India. The courier gets only your name, address and phone number, and only for the parcel they are carrying.
Can I shop without accepting cookies?
Yes. Decline the non-essential ones and everything still works — browsing, cart, checkout and tracking. You just will not be counted in our wishlist and visit statistics.
Is my child allowed to use the site?
Our store is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect data about anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their details, tell us and we will delete them.
What if there is a data breach?
We keep the site and our tracking server behind HTTPS with restricted access, but no system is perfectly safe. If a breach ever affected your data, we would tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Want your data changed or deleted?
Message us with your order ID and we will take care of it. No forms, no fee.
